Mendelssohn Elijah
Felix Mendelssohn: Elijah
Join us for an unforgettable evening of choral music as we present Felix Mendelssohn's majestic oratorio, Elijah, on March 15, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the beautiful St Thomas and St John Parish Church in Radcliffe.
Under the expert direction of Juan Ortuño, our choir will be accompanied by the Bury Camerata and a talented group of soloists. This iconic oratorio tells the story of the prophet Elijah, who is tasked by God to confront the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. The oratorio follows Elijah's journey as he faces off against the prophets, ultimately leading to a dramatic encounter with God. The work is known for its beautiful music, including the famous "He, watching over Israel, will not slumber".
With its soaring melodies, rich harmonies, and powerful storytelling, Elijah is a masterpiece that will leave you moved and inspired. Don't miss this unique opportunity to experience the beauty and grandeur of choral music at its finest."
